EAA

Hello Everyone!
I am writing to inform everyone of my efforts to open a local chapter for the EAA (Electric Auto Association).  I have been working hard to gather interested individuals to this cause.  We need an organized group in order to grow the infrastructure for EVs!

HELP US OPEN AN EAA CHAPTER IN ARKANSAS
(Electric Auto Association)

It is time for Arkansas to jump on the “Electric Wagon!”  As some of you may know, an Electric car dealer opened in Arkansas this year.  Electric Transportation of Arkansas is located downtown and has been selling vehicles almost faster than they can be stocked.  Arkansas finally has public access to EV’s without having to go through the danger and hassle of importing them by one’s self.  They’re here and they are for sale!
So you want to buy an electric car…you’ve contacted ETA, you saved up the money, and you’re ready to get that loan…
But what is Arkansas going to do to make EV’s the better choice?  This is why we need an EAA Chapter here!  We need people to organize and to fight together to make Little Rock and other metro areas more EV-friendly!  For example, tax incentives, not just for the electric car, but for buying the solar panel to put on your electric car.  What about Fast Chargers, that can charge your car in approximately 30 minutes, located at the Capitol or the River Market?  Or free metered parking for EV’s?  What if the government offered tax incentives to mechanic shops that educated their staff on maintenance of EV’s?  Let’s get local Residential Solar Panel Installers and ask them to give EV drivers a discount.  The Arkansas Governor’s Global Warming Commission is already considering ways to improve transportation and lower Arkansas’ contribution to Global Warming, so let’s give them some support and some ideas!
We already have groups like Sierra Club and ECO Conservation fighting to get cleaner energy in Arkansas, and this is our chance to support their efforts and therefore make EV’s even cleaner.  We have LEEDs buildings going up all over the state; most people don’t realize that one of the certifications that LEEDs offers is for the building to have EV plug in chargers in the parking lot.  If each new building put 3-4 chargers in the parking lot, even those who live 40 miles from work would be able to drive an EV!
We need your action and we need your support.  If you are interested in joining, contact sjones@etarkansas.com.  I welcome any questions and/or suggestions!  For more information about the association, please go to www.eaaev.org.  We currently do not have a chapter in Arkansas, but with member interest, we can create one!  Annual dues are $39 and part of that amount comes to the chapter!  Whether you want to buy an EV in the future, or you own a hybrid, or you just want to build your own, please join us!

Sincerely,
Stephanie Jones
