NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

ASN and the Arkansas Earth Institute:

Make your Own Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products  - Saturday, November 8th

None of us would consciously risk our family health just to keep our homes spotless. Yet many of the disinfectants, polishes, stain removers, and toilet, drain and oven cleaners are hazardous to our children, our pets and the planet. Discover how to safely clean your home with easy formulas and economical ingredients.  2 - 4 p.m.  Fee:  $25 includes all supplies. To register, contact ASN, EmailASN@gmail.com or call 501.372.6996.  Location: Arkansas Sustainability Network, 209 S. Victory Street, Little Rock.

ASN Board of Directors Meeting - Tuesday November 11th - 12pm - at ASN, 209 S. Victory.

Monthly Focus on Sustainable Living Topics.  Now that the ASN building is cleaned out (and by the way we still have some very nice items we're giving away for free call 372-6996 to check them out) we'd like to open our doors to a monthly event where folks can get caught up with what's happening at ASN and connect with one another around a common topic of interest.  We're starting a monthly "mixer."  What's type of mixer you say? These monthly mixers will be one hour of multimedia and discussion on a chosen topic.  This month's topic is "Year-Round Gardening: Low Cost Appropriate Technologies."  Join us for a casual exploration of short videos and on-line resources.  Thursday, November 20th, 7:00pm to 8:00pm, at ASN, 209 S. Victory.

SAVE THE DATE! *ASN HOLIDAY PARTY* - Thursday, December 4th, 5:30pm to 8:00pm, at the Flag and Banner Building. Join us for a potluck style dinner (We'll supply beverages, roasted veggies and rice.)  We'll have a holiday craft table for the kids and entertainment by Beth Wood.  Beth travels and performs frequently and has performed at the Acoustic Sounds Cafe and other venues in Little Rock. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram calls Beth "a superb singer-songwriter whose versatility discourages labeling."  You can listen to her music at www.bethwoodmusic.com/. Special thanks to Monica Issitt for helping us organize our holiday party!
