This class is taught by Tina Marie Wilcox, head gardener and herbalist for the Heritage Herb Gardens at the Ozark Folk Center. Spend an entire week delving into the mysteries of plants, from greenhouse and coldframe to garden and compost heap. Learn about germinating seed, vegetative propagation, soil, soil-less growing medium, plant nutrition and scouting out pests and diseases. You will gain extensive handouts, new plants for your garden and a desire to go home and get growing. Class is limited to 8 participants and reservations are required. Lodging and meal packages available. Students should bring pruning shears, pocket knife, sun hat and clothing and shoes appropriate for gardening.
